Simple Solution To Help You Better Understand Plumbing

Panic is the first emotion that most people feel when they have plumbing issues. This is a perfectly normal emotion. But, you do not have to feel this way if you have the proper plumbing education. This article is going to be giving you the plumbing education you need to help you fix your problem. Solder with safety in mind. When you solder a copper pipe you want to direct the flame on the copper pipe. The flame of the torch has to be four inches away from the piping. The flame should be targeted directly at the point where the copper piping needs to be disconnected. Do not pour grease or oil down any of your household drains. Put them in containers and place in the fridge until they are solid, then throw them away. If you pour them down the drain, they can solidify in cold pipes. These solid masses will clog your pipes and are very difficult to remove. You can check your toilet for leaks by adding a few drops of food coloring, Kool Aid or some coffee grounds to the water in the toilet’s tank (not the water in the bowl). Check the water in the bowl after a half hour or so. If any of the coloring agent is visible in the water in the bowl, the tank is leaking, and you will have to have it repaired. Install screen traps or drain covers on all of your sinks and tub drains. Most home plumbing calls are about clogged pipes. These can be caused by debris, especially hair, washing down the drains. Putting in a trap means that you can clean this debris off before it ends up in the pipes. Periodically check your pipes for leaks and cracks. These can be forgotten, since pipes are usually hidden away, but checking for leaks and cracks can help you identify a small problem before a big problem occurs. You may have to enlist the help of a family member to turn on and off the water stream as you are checking. To summarize, you want to know that you are taking care of your plumbing job just the same as a professional would, but without the additional costs they would inflict upon you. Hopefully, this article was informative enough for you to tackle any plumbing issue that might come your way.

The holiday season is always full of fun and excitement

“Your plumbing system is getting more taxed than it normally is because you have more guest in the house, more volume,” said Josh Blassingame with Blassingame Plumbing.

Blassingame said this is the busiest time of year and around 90 percent of his calls are about clogs.

“Just because it can flush doesn’t mean it should flush. Please use the trash can. Anything from feminine hygiene products to wipes it doesn’t need to go down the drain. Just stick with toilet paper and what else needs to go down the toilet.”

Blassingame said he also gets several calls about clogs in the kitchen.

“Everybody thinks I’m chasing it with hot water, I’m just gonna pour that grease down the drain,” said Blassingame. “Problem is that you have a trap underneath your sink. When that grease hits that water it’s gonna solidify.”

Blassingame says it’s important to throw bones and other food items in the trash instead of down your sink because your garbage disposal can clog up too.

“Disposal can handle most things but stuff like potato peelings and celery string, things like that you don’t want to put down the drain. Even rice,” said Blassingame.

Blassingame say when you dump food down your disposal, do it gradually and make sure you use plenty of water to wash it down.

Blassingame also said if your handy enough, underneath your disposal you can easily press the reset button and use an Alan wrench to un-jam and reset your disposal. Just make sure the power is off.

inancial compensation for a person like this might be over a hundred thousand dollars. The typical person we are trying to identify is over 60 years old-and they served in the navy in the 1960s and 1970s. The financial compensation claim does not involve suing the navy. It does not matter if the person smoked cigarettes.

“Our top priority is seeing to it that US Navy Veterans get compensated if they had heavy exposure to asbestos in the navy decades ago and who now have lung cancer. Most of these people never get compensated because they and their family members are not aware the $30 billion dollar-asbestos trust fund was set up for them too-not just mesothelioma. If your husband or dad has recently been diagnosed lung cancer, he is a Navy Veteran and he had heavy exposure to asbestos when he served in the navy decades ago-please call the attorneys at the law firm of Karst von Oiste at 800-714-0303. We think you will be glad you did.” www.karstvonoiste.com/

In most instances, the diagnosed person’s exposure to asbestos occurred in the 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s, or 1980’s. www.karstvonoiste.com/

According to the American Cancer Society for nonsmokers who have been exposed to asbestos in their workplace the risk of lung cancer is five times that of unexposed workers. https://www.cdc.gov/cancer/lung/statistics/index.htm.

The US Navy Veterans Lung Cancer Advocate says, “If your husband, dad, coworker or neighbor has just been diagnosed with lung cancer and you know they had significant exposure to asbestos in the navy, at a shipyard or while working at a factory, at power plant, public utility, or as a plumber, electrician welder, mechanic or any kind of skilled trades group in any state please have them call us anytime at 800-714-0303.
